Why Rent Porta Potties for Your Wedding?

Many couples overlook restroom facilities when planning outdoor weddings. However, providing clean, elegant portable restrooms can make or break your guest experience. No one wants to walk a mile to use the restroom at a rustic venue or wait in a long line during cocktail hour.

Whether you're hosting a backyard wedding, vineyard ceremony, beach celebration, or rustic barn reception, FixPilot offers luxury restroom trailers that blend seamlessly with your wedding aesthetic while providing the facilities your guests deserve.

Porta Potty Placement Tips

1

Near the Dance Floor

Place units where guests naturally gather. Avoid placing them too far from the main celebration area.

2

Discreet but Accessible

Units should be visible enough for guests to find but not front and center. Use decorative screens or landscaping to create privacy.

3

Level Ground

Ensure the placement area is flat and stable. Luxury trailers need to be level for proper operation.

4

Service Access

Leave space for delivery trucks to access units. Consider this when choosing placement spots.

The Wedding Restroom Decision Guide (by Guest Count)

Before you call any rental company, decide which tier you actually need. Picking wrong — either over-spending on a luxury trailer for 50 guests or under-spending on porta potties for 300 — is the #1 cause of wedding-day restroom complaints. Use this table.

Guest countRecommended setupTypical cost
Under 502 deluxe porta potties + 1 ADA + 1 hand wash$300–$450/day
50–752-station luxury trailer + 1 ADA porta potty$400–$600/day
75–2002-station luxury trailer + 1 ADA + 1 hand wash$450–$700/day
200–3504-station luxury trailer + 1 ADA + 2 standard for vendors$700–$1,100/day
350–5004-station luxury trailer + attendant + 2 ADA + standard for vendors$900–$1,400/day
500+8-station luxury trailer + attendant + 2 ADA + 4 standard for vendors$1,200–$1,800/day

When the trailer is non-negotiable

  • Anyone in formalwear — Tuxedos and gowns + porta potty floors don't mix.
  • Hot or cold weather — Above 85°F or below 50°F, climate control is the difference between comfortable and miserable.
  • Multi-hour ceremonies + receptions — Your guests will use restrooms 4–6 times over a 6-hour event. The cumulative experience matters.
  • Photo opportunities near restrooms — A row of green porta potties in your wedding photos is nobody's preferred backdrop.
  • Older guests / accessibility needs — Trailer steps + grab bars + interior lighting all matter.

When deluxe porta potties are the right call

  • Backyard weddings under 50 guests — A pair of deluxe units with sinks at $85–$125/day each is the right cost-to-quality balance.
  • Casual outdoor weddings (think barn, beach, park — no formalwear) — Deluxe porta potties get the job done.
  • Tight budget under $500 total — Honest answer: a luxury trailer is $300+ minimum. If your full restroom budget is below $400, deluxe + ADA is the realistic path.

Why standard porta potties don't usually fit weddings

Standard porta potties (the basic green units) are rented at construction sites for a reason — they're rugged and cheap. For weddings the trade-offs are:

  • No sink — only hand sanitizer dispenser
  • No mirror, no light, no climate control
  • Plastic floor that gets dirty fast in dress shoes
  • Visible from the wedding venue if not screened

If you must rent standard porta potties (extreme budget constraint, very casual wedding), pair them with at least one standalone hand wash station and screen them from view with portable fencing.

Don't forget the vendors

Caterers, DJs, photographers, valets, and security all need restrooms during your event. The standard pattern at weddings 200+ guests: a luxury trailer for guests, plus 1–2 standard porta potties in a back-of-house area for vendors. This avoids the catering staff queueing through the trailer in their uniforms while your guests are using it.

Pre-event walkthrough

For weddings 100+ guests we offer a free pre-event walkthrough — one of our ops leads visits the venue to confirm placement, power source, water hookup, and access path. Most coordinators end up moving the trailer placement somewhere we suggest. Worth the 30 minutes; saves a hectic morning-of conversation.
