FixPilot vs Honey Bucket — PNW comparison
Honey Bucket is one of the most established porta potty operators in the Pacific Northwest — specifically Washington and Oregon. They’ve been serving Seattle, Portland, Tacoma, Spokane, and the surrounding metros for decades and have a loyal regional customer base. We’re a national operator that also serves the same markets. So when does each make sense?
Where each company is strong
Honey Bucket’s home turf: Western Washington and Oregon. They have deep depot density in the I-5 corridor — Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Portland, Salem, Eugene. They’ve serviced PNW construction sites, festivals, and event venues for years and are a recognizable local brand. Many PNW general contractors have long-running master service agreements with them.
FixPilot’s coverage: 224 cities nationwide, including the same PNW markets — Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane, Vancouver, WA — plus the rest of the country. If your project spans multiple states or you’re a customer who books in PNW one month and Texas the next, single-vendor consolidation matters.

When Honey Bucket is the better choice
- You’re a long-term PNW customer with an existing master service agreement. The friction cost of switching from a vendor your accounts-payable team already knows often outweighs the per-unit savings of an alternative.
- Your project is small, single-site, and exclusively in WA or OR. A regional operator can be plenty.
- You value supporting a regional brand. Some PNW customers prefer to keep dollars with regional companies on principle. Reasonable.
- Your county or municipality is in their depot range but not in our 224-city core coverage. Olympia, Bremerton, Bellingham, Vancouver-WA-suburb sites — verify with both companies.
When FixPilot is the better choice
- Your project spans WA/OR plus other states. Construction firms with sites in Seattle and Texas; event production companies running tour stops in Portland and Atlanta; corporate clients with offices across multiple regions. One FixPilot account covers everything.
- You want phone-first lead intake. Tell our dispatcher your job in 30 seconds; firm price in 60 seconds. No online forms, no callbacks, no waiting for a quote.
- Disaster / emergency response. Wildfires in WA and OR have generated emergency-sanitation needs in recent years. Our nationwide fleet can stage surge capacity from neighboring states; a regional operator is constrained to local capacity.
- Federal contracts requiring SAM.gov. Our SAM.gov registration is current and active for federal procurement.
- Pricing transparency. Our quotes are all-in — no fuel surcharges or hidden line items. Verify with Honey Bucket directly on the call.
PNW-specific considerations
Some things any PNW porta potty operator needs to handle — we’ll mention them here so you can verify either of us delivers:
- Rainy-season placement — Mud mats and elevated platforms for wet ground (October–April). We supply both.
- Winter water-line drain protocols on hand wash stations — sub-32°F nights freeze regular fresh-water tanks. Both operators handle this; verify the protocol on the call.
- King County / Multnomah County permit experience — Both metros have specific public-right-of-way permit processes. Honey Bucket files these routinely; we file them in our 30 most-active states including WA and OR.
- Cascadia event calendar — Bumbershoot, Capitol Hill Block Party, Sasquatch, Pickathon, Portland Rose Festival. Major events generate seasonal supply crunches. Book early either way.
